We create beautiful flowers from paper

Figurine on books

Paper flowers only at first glance may seem too primitive and simple decoration. Masters of their craft manage to create so neat and elegant decorative compositions that the language does not even dare to call them "crafts." Paper flowers can be voluminous or flat. They decorate walls, windows, shelves, countertops and even the ceiling. Depending on the splendor of the bouquet, some are used as permanent home decoration, while others are used to create a festive atmosphere. The rich language of flowers also has its own characteristics. Using an artificial bouquet, it is easy to reveal subtle notes and midtones that will become part of the interior symphony in the house. We will plunge headlong into the beautiful world of floral diversity and get acquainted with a number of step-by-step workshops on making stylish, unusual decor.

Paper Flower Ideas

Paper flowers decorate the house. They are collected in bouquets, which are placed in vases instead of real plants. Such flowers do not require watering and care, perfect for those who are allergic to pollen. Of the shortcomings, only their predisposition to rapid burn-out is noted if the buds are placed in direct sunlight. A special role is given to floral decoration at various holidays. You can use the finished composition for different purposes:

  • The artificial bouquet will become a luxurious and durable decor for March 8, for the birthday, New Year. Instead of the usual balls and rain, the tree is decorated with paper roses or lilies, thereby creating the illusion of flowering. So that a simple postcard does not look too beaten up, it is decorated with a small composition of a pair of buds with sprigs of artificial greenery. And now the application to the present in itself becomes an original gift.
  • For a wedding, banquet rooms combine decor from natural and paper bouquets. Lush garlands are made of buds, they stand up in photo zones, decorate windows, and flowers from napkins are used to serve a festive table.
  • To decorate the interior, they usually use original topiary or wreaths on the door. By the way, with the help of this decor it is easy to mask the defects of the finish.
  • Even coffee tables are decorated with paper flowers. The lower bowl is filled with buds of different colors, and the top is covered with a glass top-lid.
  • On Valentine's Day, a heart made of scarlet paper roses will be a great budget decoration. Artificial flowers can decorate the top of the chocolate cake.
  • Paper flowers will become an important part of a gift photo album made using the scrapbooking technique.

Paper flowers in the interior

In recent years, huge flowers have come into fashion, which are also called growth flowers. Usually they are used to decorate studios before photo shoots. Foamiran buds are more durable, but paper is more affordable and cheaper. Miniature bouquets are also used in the interiors. They are placed in vases, baskets, bowls. A miniature sprout with a pair of buds that is buried in a pot and sprinkled with moss on top will look original.

About paper

Corrugated paper is considered the most popular type of paper for making flowers. It has an original texture and easily retains the shape given by the master. Corrugated paper (creped) is made using a special device through which the web is passed by scrolling the handle. At the exit, the material is decorated with specific “folds” - a small “accordion”. From ordinary (office) paper, coarser, angular flowers are obtained. For example, almost everyone folded a simple origami tulip. Slightly less dense is newspaper and book paper. It’s easier to work with, but the inscriptions will have to be masked with paint, unless, of course, the book lines are part of the composition. Journal paper for making flowers with large petals is better not to use at all. The glossy surface does not lend itself to staining with gouache or tempera, which will be noticeable on large parts. But small buds collected from colorful paper “fringe” will look bright and festive. Textured paper and embossed sheets are more suitable as a background for a magnificent floral arrangement than for making buds. Embossed inflorescences will look lurid, oversaturated with small details.Whatman paper, craft paper is another type of material available. Due to the high strength of the sheets, the finished composition will not be as fragile as corrugated. Paper is easy to dye. Usually it is used to make roses.

From book pages

It is easy to make a whole bunch of beautiful roses from book, sheet music. For work you will need:

  • several pages from books;
  • paper tape;
  • PVA glue;
  • wire.

Scissors, glue and book pages

Oval petals of various sizes are cut out of paper, which are then twisted in a certain way and attached to the tip of a wire pre-wrapped with paper tape. To make roses come out more interesting, booklets artificially age, having soaked in tea, coffee.

Daisies are made in approximately the same way. On a wide paper strip, notches of sufficient length are made to produce petals. The strip is twisted into a roll, the petals are bent to the sides and the entire structure is mounted on a wire. A yellow button or a paper circle is stuck in the middle. A bouquet of three to five or more flowers is placed in a vase.

From kraft paper

For work, you will need curly scissors that cut a strip of at least three centimeters wide. On both sides of the strip, transverse cuts are made to about the middle, every three to four centimeters. The upper corners of the incisions are diagonally screwed onto the awl, the lower corners are glued in the form of a bowl. Then the strip is twisted into a tube, the petals are unbent. The resulting flower can be sprinkled with varnish with sparkles from a spray can, manually dye the tips of the petals.

If you cut out several curly flowers of various sizes from kraft paper and fasten them in the middle with glue or a stapler, and paste a circle of cardboard, a bead in the middle, you can get a plausible bouquet of carnations, daffodils, asters.

From corrugated paper

For the manufacture of flowers, this is the best material - bright, thin, textured. To make them you need:

  • corrugation - red, yellow, blue, pink - for buds. Green corrugation - for leaves, stems;
  • wire, floral sleeve for stems;
  • scissors, sharp breadboard knife;
  • cardboard;
  • PVA glue;
  • fishing line, thread.

Corrugated Paper Flowers

First, cardboard petal patterns are made and outlined on paper. For one flower, five to six small petals will be required, as many medium, large. They are cut in compliance with the texture of the corrugation. After the center of the bud is assembled from five to eight twisted, glued together petals, which should be slightly bent. The design is worn on a wire, tied with a thread for strength, then the remaining petals are glued. A floral sleeve is worn on the stalk wire, which is decorated with green corrugation, crepe fabric, from which leaves are made.

Master classes in flower making

Needlewomen use a huge number of different techniques. They can be conditionally divided into two groups:

  • Origami. The buds are made of paper without the use of scissors, glue or other auxiliary devices.
  • Flowers are collected from various modules, which are fastened together using threads or glue.
    Consider a series of phased master classes on creating original floral arrangements. For greater convenience, we divide the plants into groups according to flowering seasons.

Bouquets of small flowers and inflorescences

It is believed that small inflorescences of wildflowers are more difficult to produce than large buds. In fact, working on both types of petals requires patience. Small inflorescences, as a rule, create according to the pattern, as if cloning individual details. For example, the clover head is easy to assemble from a long paper tape, one edge of which has notches “triangles”. These tiny stripes subsequently need to be slightly fluffed up and you get a head of field clover. Lilies of the valley can be made flat or voluminous. In the first case, resorting to the technique of quilling.Each inflorescence is made of narrow white strips, which are wound on a special stick (replaced with a toothpick). Then the resulting circle is crushed with fingers, giving it the desired shape, and the tips are slightly pulled out so that the craft resembles the original. Ready inflorescences of lilies of the valley are glued to the legs. Corrugated paper produces more delicate inflorescences. Each bud is made from a small piece of material. First, it is wrapped in a cup. Then slightly extend and twist the tips of the petals outward. A yellow center made of the same corrugated paper is glued in the center of the flower. The composition is decorated with wide green leaves.
Lush, fluffy daisies can be created from plain colored paper. It will take two shades:

  • Yellow for core;
  • Red, lilac, blue for the petals.

Choose a form Draw paper Cut out Glue together

Bend the square for the middle Make a triangle Bend the ends We get such butterflies and glue them into the core

The paper is cut into strips. On each make incisions, leaving a small "tape" of the base. Then the future buds are twisted so that the fluffy tips are outside. First, wrap the yellow center, and then lilac petals. The end of the strip is fixed with glue. You can use threads. From below, wire stems are threaded into the buds. The work on the manufacture of buttercups will be more painstaking. Their inflorescences have a complex color structure, so you will have to select several shades that will harmoniously combine. First, a petal template is cut out of cardboard. It is much more convenient to work with a stencil, since there are a lot of components in a buttercup bud. From corrugated paper, dark green, light green, pale yellow, light and dark pink (raspberry) shades cut the petals. Each has slightly extended edges to form a cup shape. Then the inflorescence begins to be collected in parts. You will need a foam ball. Petals are successively pasted on it. First, dark green, then light green, yellow, pale pink and complete with rich raspberry.Color gradation will create a bud identical to the original. The outer petals are slightly wrapped. Four green leaves are glued to the base, forming a cup. A foam ball is pierced with a wire pre-wrapped in a ribbon of green crepe paper. At a small distance from each other, leaves are attached to the rod. Inflorescences of pansies are also collected on the petal. The main feature of these colors is an unusual color. Two petals have a blue-violet color, another two or three are yellow with black veins. There are blue with red or orange-yellow pansies. It is best to use white crepe paper, which will have to be painted on your own with gouache and apply an original pattern of inflorescences. Buds are collected from petals that are glued to the base. As a core, a twisted piece of crepe paper is suitable.

Spring flowers

Spring flowers enliven the atmosphere and bring with them a feeling of freshness, sunshine, and cheer up the household. To make hyacinths, you need ordinary office paper and napkins in bright colors. Glue is used to fasten parts. First, the paper is folded into a tube. She will become the stem of the future flower. The bottom of the tube is glued with green paper. Napkins are cut into small squares. Each of them is crushed in such a way that the "shaggy" tips look outward. The surface of the stem is covered with glue. Using the blunt end of the brush, on which a square of napkins is put on, they are pressed to the tube. Inflorescences have a very dense. Empty space on the stem should not remain. For a full bouquet you need 3-5 of these flowers. They are best combined with wicker baskets and flower pots. Vases for such a composition are usually not suitable. Tulips and crocuses are made either in the origami technique from one sheet, or from crepe paper.In the second case, the buds will be more elegant and delicate. You can work according to the same scheme as with buttercups. The main differences - the tulip buds are larger, the cups of their petals are bent inward, you will need paper of only one color.

To create daffodils, you need crepe paper in three colors: green, white, and yellow. A foam ball is used as the core. It is wrapped in a strip of yellow paper, from which the bud is formed. Then 5-7 white petals are glued to it from below. Their edges are slightly stretched and wrinkled to form a raised border. Green sepals are glued even lower. Tulip heads are fixed on wire stems. Such a bouquet will look original in a wicker basket or home-made pot. It is easy to make from a cardboard box, a piece of polystyrene foam, twigs of the same length and jute rope. Styrofoam is placed in the box. Outside it is covered with glue. The sides are decorated with dense rows of twigs arranged vertically. They are tied with a jute rope with a flirty bow. Wire rods are inserted into the foam base. Snowdrops can be made from plain colored paper. The fluffy core is made of a strip of yellow with a fringe. It is wound on a wire rod and the tip is fixed with glue. Petals are cut from a sheet of white or blue paper. You can use a teaspoon as an oval template. Each detail is glued to the base of the future flower, as if wrapping around a core. The petals are staggered.

Summer flowers

Summer flowers made of paper, as a rule, bright, juicy. They are used in interior design to create a mood, to make optimistic, lively notes in the atmosphere. To make sunflowers, you need paper in four colors:

  • Brown and black for the core;
  • Bright yellow for petals;
  • Green for stem and leaves.

Summer paper flowers

First create a core. Due to the rather large size, a lot of paper will be needed. Several strips of dark brown and black color are decorated with “fringe”. Then they are twisted into a thick tube, which is tied in the middle with a black thread. The upper part must be fluffed, giving it volume. Sharp-tipped petals are cut out of yellow paper. They are sequentially glued to the base. It is advisable to use three rows so that the sunflower is quite lush. A sepal of green paper is cut out according to a similar pattern. They are fixed under the yellow petals. Then, a tube is glued from green paper, which is put on the flower at the base to mask the part tied with thread. From the other end, the paper tube is crushed and glued to the stem.

Daisies

Peonies are created on the principle of making buttercups or tulips. A foam ball is placed in the center. It is wrapped in soft pink crepe paper. Notches are made on the blanks of the petals, giving them the shape of a heart. Then they are slightly stretched to get cups with wavy edges. Petals are sequentially glued to the base of the flower. Peonies, unlike tulips, have more “fluffy” buds. Because of this, the petals must not be glued so tightly to each other. Carnations are made in a similar way. The only difference is the incisions that are applied to the tips of the petals to make them even more magnificent, as in real buds. Poppies can be made according to the algorithm for making sunflowers. Their black fluffy core turns into 5-7 bright scarlet petals. To create field daisies, you need white, green, and yellow paper. The fluffy core of the flower is made of a tightly curled fringed paper strip. Petals are glued in two rows. To make the inflorescence look more realistic, some of them are made incisions, as if giving the shape of a heart.Callas are incredibly beautiful and delicate flowers. Making them yourself is quite simple. The bud consists of an oblong core, usually yellow, and one petal with a sharp tip, as if twisted around it.

Asters

Autumn flowers

The golden autumn is overwhelming for many, despite all the splendor of the colors of a withering nature. The best recipe for a good mood will be needlework. Making interior decorations will distract from sad thoughts and help develop your creative talents. Autumn flowers in the garden become the first messengers of the end of the summer season. However, they are not inferior in beauty to flowering spring or summer plants. Chrysanthemums and asters are made according to the same principle. Both flowers have many thin, sharp petals. They can be made from strips of paper. A triangular fringe is cut out on one side. Then the strips are twisted, and the tips are glued. Petals in the middle must be fluffed, and the lower ones bent and wrapped inside the inflorescences. The dahlia bud is performed according to a more complex algorithm. Each of its petals is twisted like a funnel. A sheet of paper is cut into many squares. Each folded into a cone, like a bag for seeds from the newspaper. Then cut a round base from cardboard, to which the petals are sequentially glued. Empty seats in the bud should not remain. Such dahlias look great as part of a three-dimensional painting composition, which is placed in a frame and hung on the wall. The background can be draped with a thin cloth or covered with a piece of plain wallpaper.

We make a queen of flowers - a rose

Rose is perhaps the most beautiful flower of the entire floristic fraternity. In most women, it remains a favorite plant, whose buds are mesmerizing with grace and sophistication. To make a delicate rose, you will need:

  • Wire for the stem;
  • Corrugated paper for petals of red, white or yellow;
  • Glue gun;
  • Crepe paper for green leaves;
  • Styrofoam Ball

The ball-base is wrapped with a piece of red crepe paper so that a detail of the “spindle” shape comes out. Pre-cut petals begin to gradually stick to the base. To make the rose slightly open, the ends of its extreme petals with a toothpick are slightly turned outward. The wire is wrapped in green crepe paper. From the bottom, a sepal is glued to the rose, and then a rod is threaded into the foam ball.

For a more minimalistic product, only red colored paper is required. A circle is cut from an A4 sheet. It makes one long incision in a spiral. Then the resulting strip is folded, slightly pulled together, and the “tail” is fixed with glue. A simple red rose is ready. From below, a green wire stem is glued to it (using shaggy wire) and “planted” in a pot, sprinkled with soil or moss. Additionally, the bud is covered with artificial snow or glitter. The composition is covered with a clear glass bowl on top.

Necessary materials Fold the paper in several layers. Cut two corners We turn into a bud Fasten the end

To make a velvet rose, use colored paper with a special coating. Its front side is difficult to distinguish from natural fabric. You can purchase such paper in stationery stores.

Paper flowers with sweets.

A bouquet of paper flowers can hide a large number of sweets in each of the buds. Such a delicious and beautiful gift is easy to make yourself. Any flowers that have a tight middle will do. In the above workshops, a foam ball was usually used as the basis. It is simply exchanged for a small candy, preferably round in shape. To mask a rectangular “Swallow” or “Squirrel”, you will have to use a large amount of corrugated paper, and the bud itself will have impressive dimensions, with such a core.So that the tails of the wrapper of sweets do not interfere, they can be cut or glued with tape to the candy itself. Be sure to take care of the strength of the stems. The wire must support the extra weight so that the flowers do not lower their heads down. If it is too pathetic to give the composition to be torn to pieces by the sweet tooth, then the flowers made from candies are decorated with flowers.

Making large bulk flowers for the holidays

As mentioned above, large growth flowers are usually used as decorations for photo zones. You can prepare the props yourself. The easiest way to make huge chrysanthemums that are suspended from the ceiling by strings. You will need a sheet of colored paper of A2 or A1 format (depending on the required size of the finished flower). It must be corrugated, that is, folded with an accordion. Then the paper is bandaged in the middle with a thread. The ends of the folded accordion are cut in a semicircle to make it look like an ice cream stick. Now the petals of a huge flower can be dismissed with your hands. They are pulled and evenly distributed throughout the bud. Volumetric Chrysanthemum is ready. Flowers of slightly smaller sizes can be hung with a garland on the window. To make a blooming rose, a circle for the core and many petals are cut out of colored paper. An incision is made at the base of each. Two “tails” are glued together, and the tip is turned outward to make a three-dimensional part. Petals are sequentially glued to the color circle. Finish the work by fixing the fluffy core. Such flowers are suitable for decorating the interior as a festive wall and even floor decor.

Origami flower making

Origami (origami) is the Japanese art of folding paper figures. There are three main techniques:

  • Simple origami. For work, use one sheet of paper.
  • Modular. The composition is assembled from several parts, which are folded separately.
  • Wet technique.Models are less coarse and angular than traditional origami, due to the fact that the paper is pre-wetted.

The two most popular types of origami figures: animals and flowers. The most primitive example of the latter is a tulip. Another "related" technique for origami is considered to be kusudama. Flower bouquets have the shape of a ball and consist of many identical details that are stitched together.
Simple origami perfectly develops fine motor skills of hands, so the technique is often used to create children's applications with voluminous colors.

Lilies

For the manufacture of lilies you will need plain or corrugated paper in several colors, acrylic paints, scissors, glue, wire, semolina. Six to seven pointed petals are cut, one side of which is neatly straightened, twisted outward. Dark spots are drawn at the base with a thin brush. The stalk is pasted over with green paper, a pestle is formed at its end, stamens, the tops of which are dipped in glue, then - in semolina, are painted. The design is assembled, leaves are glued to the stem, which are also slightly twisted.

Roses

Roses are made of corrugated, magazine, color or white paper. Each petal is cut individually or from a solid curly strip. The design is twisted, all the parts are neatly straightened. External pointed green petals are glued under the bottom of the product, the bud is put on the stem.

Peonies, Chrysanthemums

Peonies are made quite large. To obtain a plausible pinkish color, food coloring is used. Petals of various sizes are cut out in the form of rounded rectangles, ovals, narrowed at one end. The corrugation is slightly stretched, disheveled, giving the petals realism. The bud is twisted from 20-26 petals.

For the manufacture of asters, chrysanthemums, cornflowers, one or more colored strips are taken, on which cloves of the desired shape are cut.A core is twisted from the narrowest strip, the rest is fastened around.

Exclusive Wedding Bouquet

Flowers of the desired type are drawn on paper manually or colored blanks are printed from the Internet, and then cut out. Each bud is attached to the floristic wire. The required number of flowers is collected in a bouquet, their stems are twisted together with a floral ribbon, the tips are trimmed. The resulting pen is wrapped in silk, satin ribbon in a suitable color. You can tie a lush bow.

Quilling

Quilling flowers are made from narrow paper strips wound around a knitting needle. From strips with a width of at least five millimeters, and a length of ten centimeters, rolls are twisted, which are slightly flattened to obtain a pointed oval from two ends. Details are stacked in a circle on a plane, glued into a circle. The middle is made of fringe - on strips two or three centimeters wide, transverse cuts are made, the paper is curled into a roll, straightened, attached to the middle of the flower.

To make a simple three-dimensional postcard from colored paper, six to seven squares with a side of about ten centimeters are cut out. Each is folded diagonally three times, a diamond-shaped petal is drawn, cut out, laid out. It turns out an eight-petal flower. After they draw a hatch along the edge, closer to the middle, on six of the eight petals. In each flower, one unfilled petal is cut out and glued in the form of a cup. Then all the flowers are collected in a single design, glued with the back to each other, a postcard.

Conclusion

Paper flowers, just like real ones, can express different emotions. Refined, refined lilies of the valley; rustic but beautiful chamomiles and pansies in their laconicism; fine roses; magnificent and elegant peonies - for each flower there is a connoisseur. Gift bouquets must be selected, focusing on the nature of the person. To make the composition look appropriate in the interior of the house, it is compared with the features of the stylistic design, color scheme and the general "mood" of the room.
