But they all dreamed of their toy house, which would allow to realize their plan. Generations succeed each other, but girls' desires remain unchanged.

The history of the appearance of toys dates back tens of centuries. Known specimens found in Egypt, which relate to the existence of the state BC. e. In Europe, such products were available only to wealthy families, but over time, everything changed. Now in the children's store there is anything from the classic Barbie to the characters of your favorite cartoons that can even live in castles. However, the indecently high cost of such designs may surprise the parent. But, do not be upset, you can please your child with a toy made with your own hands.

The advantages of making a do-it-yourself house

Any craft, especially created for their children, is filled with warmth, has a strong energy, brings joy to the baby. In the process of work, individuality, creative abilities are manifested. You can gather all members of the family, have fun spending time surrounded by your loved ones. So, we will consider the advantages of a self-made design:

  • Exclusivity, originality. The house will be different in that it is a single piece of art. No one else will. Manufacturing companies make them specifically with parts that spoil them, or a design that is not acceptable in general, but with very attractive components. This is done intentionally. Perfect toys with a perfect look are incredibly high cost;
  • Always in fashion. Self-made product will never lose its relevance. It does not depend on advertising. A good thing will be liked by the owners for a long time;
  • Flight of fancy. When creating a house, you can realize any wishes of the child. It can be desktop, achieve human growth. Have a number of storeys, a different number of rooms, windows, interior items;
  • Save your home budget. In addition to a pleasant pastime, a house with your own hands will save money.

Dollhouse

The child must participate in the manufacture of the house. He will always tell you what he would like to see, what he expects from the created structure. In addition, he will appreciate the hand-made toy more.

Project drafting

The house is a cherished dream of many girls. It provides an opportunity to have a good rest, play with friends, and realize childhood wishes.Work on the creation of the product begins with the question of how to make a dollhouse with your own hands, what materials to use, determine the size. To do this, create a project of a future design. It consists in transferring the design to paper. Must meet certain requirements:

  1. Functionality. The construction to be built should be practical. Meet certain standards, have an attractive external and internal appearance. Be no worse than factory options.
  2. Simplicity of design. Hand-made project should be done without unnecessary frills. Complex schemes require certain skills. To do this, you need to gain experience.
  3. The calculations. It is necessary to calculate the availability and quantity of required materials. Identify the necessary tools with which the upcoming work will be performed.
  4. Accurate drawings are the key to success. The appearance and accuracy of the future structure depend on this. You can download ready-made models from the Internet, if you have the skills to do the drawing yourself, use special programs. A preliminary sketch can be drawn on a sheet in a box.

House shape, number of storeys and size

An important design step is determining the size and shape of the house. It can be single, multi-storey. Have a rectangular, square shape. It is possible to create a castle with round towers. The parameters of the products are different, it all depends on the area of the children's room, the wishes of the child, the imagination of the author. When creating a room sketch, the following requirements should be considered:

  • The ceiling height in the room is determined from the growth of its toy inhabitants, usually it is two sizes of dolls. Such a requirement will allow you to easily rearrange the residents of the house in the rooms;
  • The depth of the rooms is calculated from the need for free space to accommodate items installed inside. Width depends on the total area of the structure, the number of rooms;
  • The material used affects the area and height of the product.Each individual raw material is characterized by the ability to withstand different loads, maintain its original shape;
  • When creating two-story buildings, rooms should be located correctly. The ground floor is characterized by a kitchen, an entrance hall, a living room, and the second floor has a bedroom, a hall, an office. You can also provide for the attic, balcony, veranda.

Two-story toy house

Small houses are the hardest to do. It is difficult to work with small details, it is especially difficult to install windows, doors, and decorate rooms.

Materials for building a dollhouse

When building a house, an important factor is the choice of suitable material, not only for the building itself, but for all the elements that make up its structure (table, chair, bed, wardrobe). All components must be strong, reliable. For children under 3 years old, it is advisable to use wooden parts, without varnish, paint. This is due to the desire of the child to taste everything, he can gnaw, lick a toy.

Wooden toy house

It is possible to make a design using different raw materials: wood, plastic, metal, fabric, plywood, linoleum, cotton, laminate. The main thing is that the house is strong, durable, does not fall apart at the first contact with the child. The most practical, sustainable are structures built of wood, plywood, laminate. They are not much different from factory products. Let us dwell in more detail on the popular materials used in construction.

Flower pot on the floor

Plywood

This is a great choice for creating crafts. It is a laminated plate formed by gluing several rows of veneers. It has a number of advantages, which are expressed in:

  • High strength. Toys have a long service life, do not break in children's hands;
  • Appearance. The top layer of veneer has a woody pattern;
  • Low heat dissipation. Plywood warm when touched - an important quality for the baby;
  • Simple handling.Painting, cutting, drilling, milling, fastening will not be difficult;
  • Reasonable price. A little plywood is required for a plywood house, but its cost is low.

The formaldehyde content in the adhesive should be minimal, consistent with the E0 marking. An environmentally friendly product is needed for a child.

The beginning of work consists in the preparation of materials and tools. For this we need: sheet plywood, at least 5 mm thick; wood hacksaw or jigsaw; PVA, wood glue, adhesive tape; pieces of wallpaper (leftovers from repair work can be used); measuring instruments, pencil, pen.

Toy house made of plywood

The next stage of construction will be the preparation of the drawing. It can be downloaded from the network, drawn by yourself. Having everything you need, get to work. Consider a step-by-step mater class:

  1. According to the drawing, we make templates that we transfer to a plywood sheet.
  2. With a hacksaw or a jigsaw, we cut out the structural elements, cut out window openings, doors.
  3. Sharp corners and edges are cleaned with a file, sandpaper.
  4. Using glue or nails, we connect all the elements, starting with joining the base of the side walls, then go to the back.
  5. When the frame is ready, proceed to the partitions, we fix the ceiling from above.
  6. If there is a second floor, we assemble in the same way.
  7. We install the roof, simulate a roof covering on it, for example, glue painted, finely chopped cardboard.
  8. The next step will be the interior decoration. To do this, you can stick a film with a wood pattern on the floor, attach pieces of fabric, lay linoleum. The walls are painted, papered.
  9. If the house is multi-story, stairs can be installed inside.
  10. At the final stage, we arrange the interior items, put them inside the dolls.

Tree

Working with wood is a little more difficult. In the process of manufacturing the structure, the following materials and equipment will be required:

  • sheet of paper, ruler, meter, pencil;
  • boards of coniferous or hardwood of the smallest thickness (at least 16 mm according to GOST);
  • plywood, file, sandpaper;
  • wood glue, nails;
  • wooden blocks;
  • circular saw, jigsaw, hand milling equipment;
  • protective mask, glasses.

The work takes place in several stages:

  1. According to the drawings, we prepare templates.
  2. We attach the templates to the board and transfer the markup to it.
  3. With a circular saw, we cut out the contoured blanks.
  4. On the roof elements in the place of their upper connection we cut a slope with an angle of 45 degrees.
  5. To cut windows and doors with a jigsaw, we drill holes along the outlined edges.
  6. The final size of the openings is done with manual milling equipment, if there is none, you can use a file.
  7. The sharp corners of the edges and all the holes are grinded with sandpaper.
  8. We assemble our structure with glue and nails. On the base we install side walls that should reach the roof, the interfloor partitions are located between them. Install the roof.
  9. As the back wall we use a sheet of plywood, fiberboard more than 3 mm thick. It should extend over all edges a few mm. After fixing it with a milling machine, we finish the processing of the walls of the house.
  10. If necessary, install a balcony. To do this, we take four identical squared bars, we make a hole in them at the upper edge, where we insert round slats serving as partitions. Further, this design is mounted on a special ledge.
  11. At the final stage, we install a chimney on the roof, we clean the crafts from dust.

Chipboard

A plate made in the process of pressing wood chips is used in furniture production. Easy to handle. Contains formaldehydes. For work, they take a product with an emission type E0, E1. To build a house, we need:

  • chipboard sheets with a thickness of 8 mm or more, veneered with paper, paper or chipboard coated with a polymer film;
  • screwdriver, screws, glue;
  • drill with special nozzles for cutting holes;
  • jigsaw, hacksaw;
  • sheet, simple pencil;
  • measuring tools.

Stages of creating a house with an open balcony and a shed roof:

  1. We transfer drawing elements to plywood sheets.
  2. Cut out all parts of the structure.
  3. We fix the side walls and partitions to the base. Fixation takes place with self-tapping screws. In the places of their screwing, holes must be drilled so that the chipboard sheet does not delaminate;
  4. Next, we fix the ceiling, which will be the basis for the second floor.
  5. To get a pitched roof, we make the wall adjacent to the balcony higher than the side. We fasten our roof on them.
  6. The side wall and the partition of the balcony are one, but its side parts will have to be cut.
  7. Before attaching the rear partition, we pre-drill circular windows in it, for this we use a drill with a special nozzle.

Laminate

To create a layout, you can use wood flooring. Materials for the manufacture are similar to wood. They are as follows:

  • laminate boards 8, 12 mm thick;
  • paper, pen, ruler;
  • jigsaw, drill;
  • glue, stationery knife.

When creating such a house, people who are left with excess building materials after repairs will be lucky. Consider a master class on creating a house with a garage and a gable roof:

  1. Draw a diagram, download it on the network.
  2. With the small size of the structure, the wall can be made from one board, its width should be enough. For larger structures, several lamellas will have to be connected.
  3. From the front side we cut out windows, a doorway and an entrance gate to the garage. On the side wall from the side of the garage, we make round holes with a drill with a nozzle, they will serve as ventilation hatches. Windows on the sides are not required; they are best done on the rear partition.
  4. As a base, foundation we use thicker 12 mm boards.
  5. Walls can be joined with glue, it is better to fasten with iron corners, installing them at the inner joint of the partitions.
  6. The front side is removable.
  7. At the final stage, we install the roof.
  8. If there is a lot of free time available, you can make an entrance door and gate from a laminate by attaching them with small hinges.

Drywall

The product from this raw material is light, but rather fragile. To create a house you will need:

  • drywall sheet;
  • PVA glue, carpentry;
  • pencil, measuring instruments;
  • construction knife, metal corner, profile.

Drywall House

Step-by-step master class of a standard house in three floors:

  1. Mark the sheet of drywall.
  2. First, we cut two side walls with a construction knife, then two horizontal partitions.
  3. We expose our side walls to the ribs so that they are parallel, are on the same level. In places of fastening of partitions, on both sides we make a hole and fix the corners, which will serve as an additional support. Drywall sheets, along the ends adjacent to the walls, are smeared with glue and laid on corners that can be masked with putty.
  4. Cut out the base. It is also connected to the structure with glue and corners.
  5. Install the back panel. For its preliminary fixation we use adhesive tape.
  6. We fix the roof on the sides and on the ledge of the rear wall. To obtain a bend, we do not completely cut the sheet of drywall.
  7. The final step will be the installation of vertical partitions, preferably one of them to strengthen the roof.
  8. If necessary, the product can be made mobile. To do this, the base should be strengthened by attaching to it a rectangular structure from the building profile, to which the wheels will be attached.

Styrofoam

Inexpensive raw materials that can be found in almost every home. Usually it remains from the packaging of household appliances. This is a very fragile material. Work with him carefully. To create a product we need:

  • foam sheet;
  • matches, toothpicks;
  • ceiling foam baseboard;
  • measuring items, glue or gun;
  • stationery knife.

Styrofoam House

The step-by-step process is as follows:

  1. We make drawings and create patterns.
  2. With a clerical knife, we cut out the blanks according to the templates. To avoid crumbs, it is better to use a special thermal knife for cutting foam.
  3. In the walls we cut out door and window openings.
  4. We fix the walls, ceiling, base with toothpicks or matches. They pierce the ends and lateral surfaces of the foam planes (junction). When joining parts, they are additionally glued in the area of contact.
  5. We assemble the first floor of the building, starting with the installation of the front side, then the side.
  6. We collect the second floor by analogy with the first.
  7. To create a roof we use props, they will strengthen it.
  8. We fix the top of the roof with matches, additionally reinforcing with adhesive tape until the glue dries.
  9. We build a staircase between the floors. It is also made of polystyrene. As a railing, you can use bamboo sticks (they are still used to strengthen the structure).
  10. At the final stage, the exterior and interior decoration is done. Ceiling plinth is used to create window sills.

Cardboard

Cardboard house - unreliable design. A little girl quickly breaks it. The material bends easily. A product is created from:

  • corrugated cardboard;
  • pencil, ruler;
  • scissors, clerical knife;
  • electrical tape, glue, adhesive tape.

The technology for creating a children's toy is as follows:

  1. The drawing is transferred to cardboard, from which the components of the structure are cut.
  2. Window openings are made in cardboard.
  3. Further, all structural elements are glued together.
  4. To strengthen the structure, the edges of the walls are not cut, but wrapped and glued to other planes.
  5. Parts of the roof that protrude outside the house should be glued with tape, electrical tape.
  6. The house is very fragile, so it is better to place a small doll in it. Furniture, respectively, should also be light, small.

Houses made of old furniture

Repair of the house, apartment, updating of the interior in them is often accompanied by the purchase of new furniture, while the old one is sent to the loggia, attic, and basement. You will have to print bins, because unused chests of drawers, cabinets, shelves will become indispensable material in the construction of a dollhouse. Working with the model does not take much time, because walls, ceiling, foundation are ready. The massive building will fit a whole regiment of toys. For work, we need:

  • pencil, measuring objects;
  • plywood, board;
  • hammer, screwdriver, jigsaw, grinder;
  • nails, screws;
  • old furniture;
  • paints, glue.

House of old furniture

The step-by-step instruction consists of the following actions:

  1. The frame of the house is ready, it remains to build a roof. To do this, measure the width of the cabinet and its depth. After that, we cut the boards, at the upper junction making a slope of 45 degrees. Because the depth of the cabinet is wider than the standard board, you have to put together a few pieces together. After installing the roof, we strengthen it with partitions on the sides, at the same time we divide the attic space into several parts.
  2. The existing vertical partitions in the shelf can be left, if necessary, add new ones.
  3. Locker doors can be used as the front side of the house, which closes. Next, cut out the windows, if necessary, a doorway, using a jigsaw and a drill.
  4. The next step is the cleaning of the internal and external surfaces with a grinder from the old coating. Then we clean the entire structure from dirt, apply a layer of paint.
  5. All of the following actions are related to decorating the resulting structure.

Furnished rooms

Cardboard box house

The easiest way to create a house. It is necessary to choose boxes of appropriate sizes. Materials for work are also necessary to a minimum:

  • cardboard boxes for household appliances, ordinary gray;
  • pencil, ruler;
  • stationery knife, stapler, glue.

Work with the material is as follows:

  1. We use stronger boxes for household appliances as floors, the main thing is that they have the same size.
  2. Cut on the sides of each box of the window.
  3. We glue three boxes together, while leaving the top box without a partition, which plays the role of a ceiling.
  4. Getting to the roof. To do this, take the cut cardboard covers and cut out two strips from them, which will be the roof slopes. By bending and overlaying the edges on top of each other, we fix them with the side walls and at the top of the roof with each other using a stapler and glue. We also attach the back wall of the attic.
  5. Internal partitions can be installed from separate sheets of cardboard, or selected by the size of the box, which will definitely enter the floor, while still strengthening the structure as a whole.
  6. We decorate the house with the help of fabric, fringe, ribbons, foam products.

Cut the box in half Cut off the lids Making the front of the roof We fix the roof and the attic We make windows and ladders Cardboard box house

Fabric baghouse

Unique craft. Expanding the bag, we get a house located on the same plane. To create such a miracle, you must:

  • a pair of pieces of HB fabric or felt, 50x40 cm in size;
  • trimming smaller fabric;
  • buttons, threads, ribbons;
  • pencil, paper;
  • scissors, needles, sewing machine.

Consider a detailed master class:

  1. First, draw a sketch on paper, cut out the patterns.
  2. We attach the fabric to the patterns and transfer the contour to it.
  3. On the main pieces of fabric, cut out the doorway and windows in series, i.e. do not proceed to the next hole, while we install the patch on the existing one.
  4. Having completed all the external elements, proceed to the internal. Here we can place four rooms (the best option). It is a bathroom, kitchen, bedroom, hall.
  5. For each separate room we sew pieces of fabric, imitating characteristic objects. For example, in the bedroom you can place a cabinet with opening doors, a bed in which you can put a small doll. In the bathroom there is a washbasin with a mirror and a shower.
  6. At the final stage, we sew on the handbag handles that are attached to the inner side of the fabric that simulates the walls.

Fabric baghouse

Exterior Options

The facade is built, the house is almost ready, there are several stages left before transferring it to the baby. It is necessary to perform the exterior finish of the structure, to create the design of the product. Consider several design options:

  1. Imitation of masonry walls, roof tiles. To do this, take the ice cream sticks and their mode into four parts. From the pieces having a rounding, we lay out the roof starting from the bottom row, gradually moving upward. Each subsequent row is overlapped with the previous one. The upper joint of the roof slopes is covered with whole sticks, perpendicular to the tile. Next, proceed to the facade. Glue the cut rectangular sticks to the walls in the form of brickwork. The final stage will be painting the roof and facade with paints.
  2. Simple painting at home. The most common and fastest option. We color the roof pink, the walls white.

I love needlework and everything connected with it. Especially home-made furnishings are my passion!
