Cappuccino is a traditional Italian drink loved by many coffee lovers around the world. It is made on the basis of espresso with the addition of frothed milk. The result is a delicate caramel liquid with a white head of foam. Cappuccino color is considered fashionable, it is used in the interior quite often and not only because it has a beautiful, sonorous name. Light shades of brown (coffee), which combine with white (milk), have a calming effect and allow you to relax, achieve a state of inner harmony. The color of cappuccino in the interior of the kitchen, bedroom and "reading" corners of the living room is used more often than in other rooms. The situation, designed in such a palette, helps to normalize sleep, promotes good mood and provokes the creation of culinary masterpieces. Unobtrusive coffee wall decoration and glossy surfaces of the "milk" headset will help create a beautiful and stylish interior.

Color psychology

The cappuccino hue is lighter than brown, but darker than beige. It occupies an intermediate position in the color gradation between these tones. Unfortunately, on a subconscious level, brown is perceived negatively by a person. It is the color of street dirt and fallen leaves. In nature, it is associated with wilting and death. What can not be said about its light shades, which are compared with natural landscapes, the coat color of many animals, clubs of fog in the morning sun and, of course, a coffee-milk whirlpool in a cup caused by the movements of a spoon. Associations with drinks and food (cakes, sweets, cakes) play an important role in the interior of the kitchen. They are used not to remind about the purpose of the room, but to create an atmosphere on which the comfort of staying in it depends. The shade of cappuccino is attributed to warm colors, unobtrusively “warming” the kitchenette. They create coziness, and in good lighting begin to "radiate" light themselves. Its options range from mild yellowness to low tide. The design of the room in the color of cappuccino is chosen by people of free views. Their psychological age does not exceed 30-35 years, since subconsciously the soul is already reaching for a state of rest, but fashionable solutions typical of the young generation are used to achieve it.

Combinations with other colors.

The best options for combining cappuccino are combinations with the closest "relatives", neighbors in the color spectrum:

  • Brown;
  • Beige
  • Walnut;
  • Sand;
  • Chocolate
  • Gold
  • Kashtanov;
  • Caramel color.

Also in harmony with the shade of neutral white, black and gray. To dilute the atmosphere and create accents on the coffee and milk canvas of the kitchen decoration use:

  • Saturated Purple
  • Cold blue;
  • Bright red;
  • Cherry interspersed with gray (frosty berry effect);
  • Grassy green.

The combination is carried out using contrasting decor: curtains, tablecloths, upholstery, chairs, kitchen accessories. Do not recommend combining more than two to three shades. Combined options look spectacular, where contrast plays the role of a separator of two zones. For spacious kitchens, it is recommended to slightly damp the cappuccino color with black and dark brown, as the main shade visually expands the space. In small rooms, this effect is beaten with white and light walnut tones to enhance it.

When combined with other colors, the main thing is not to overdo it. The “leading” tone in the setting should remain coffee with milk. It acts as a background that seems to fill the kitchen with the aromas of a coffee shop. If this illusion is destroyed by other colors that put too much pressure on the atmosphere, then their use is minimized.

Finish

The choice of materials for decoration is determined by the stylistic concept. Cappuccino looks expensive and spectacular on both natural and artificial surfaces. Gloss of gloss will add color to elegance and make the atmosphere more expensive, luxurious. In the loft, cappuccino is combined with light brick, and in classical styles with floral ornaments on the walls. “Supports” the color of the concept of a trendy hi-tech, modest minimalism, a rustic simple Provence, luxurious Art Nouveau, extraordinary fusion and a number of elite styles. Cappuccino is versatile and can adapt to any direction. Before finishing the room, you need to determine the color principle:

  • Walls, floor and ceiling will play the role of a cappuccino background;
  • The “box” of the room will be neutral, and coffee motifs will be embodied in furniture.

Walls

Wall surfaces are papered with wallpaper (with a special coating for kitchens), plastered, coated with drywall, tile, plastic and wood panels.The natural color of the latter can be echoed with a cappuccino set. PVC panels, as a rule, are chosen with a complex texture: on a coffee background, there are white blotches. As a result, the surface as if imitates a polished stone. The apron is tiled, the color of which is accent: cherry, gray, purple, green. If it is necessary to create a background, then white and pastel shades prevail in the decoration of the walls. Lining the “box” in dark colors is allowed only in spacious kitchens. For simple and rigorous options, the walls are simply plastered, and on the accent area they create a relief similar to shreds of milk foam. In eco-style, cork is used, which has not only a pleasant shade, but also a soft-touch surface.

To enhance the similarity with a fragrant drink, materials with milk and coffee stains are used. Cappuccino is universal and will be combined with any textures and patterns in the decoration of the walls.

Floor

Kitchen floors are usually tiled. Use large tiles of black, gray, brown. The dark floor will create the illusion of a "bottomless" coating. If a laminate is chosen for decoration, then preference is given to gray, chocolate, chestnut shades. In expensive versions, a bulk floor is used, which not only is durable, but also gives an elegant “varnished” shine. Separately, you can order a picture that will decorate its surface. For the cappuccino kitchen, the coffee theme in the images will be relevant. In budget options, linoleum is used as flooring. Its range allows you to choose light shades that imitate wood. Linoleum is inferior in durability to other materials, but a high-quality product can not be visually distinguished from a laminate or parquet board.

Ceiling

In the “squat” kitchens, where the ceilings cannot boast of height, they are plastered or painted. Light shades prevail in the palette.If coffee and milk and a couple of additional colors will be present in the decor and wall decoration, then it is better to leave the top white. For multi-level drywall ceilings, a combination of a cappuccino shade with a neutral tone is used. If the “step” has a wavy shape, then it is beaten as an imitation of a milk wave, which “floats” on dark coffee. Decorate the embossed surface with spotlights along the contour of the level difference boundary.

Furniture and kitchen

Furniture is chosen on the basis of "a lot of shine, a little shade." The color "mosaic" of its surfaces, as a rule, consists of combinations of two tones. This is usually a cappuccino and a different, contrasting or neutral hue. Furniture handles can be trimmed with noble “gold” or chrome plated. Headsets whose surfaces are decorated with the ombre effect look organically and elegantly. The color gradation from white to rich chocolate will imitate the mixing of the constituent cappuccino in a cup. It is also relevant to use headsets with modular facades, where each fragment is painted in a specific color. They can form complex geometric patterns or adhere to the classical pattern of dividing into identical squares. In rare cases, embossed surfaces imitating ripples on the surface of a coffee are used. More contrasting decisions are also relevant when the top of the headset is decorated in bright colors (blue, green, red, purple), and the bottom and the “transitional” area (refrigerator or tall cabinet) are in delicate beige, ivory or cappuccino tones.

Decor

Particular attention is paid to window and doorways. To emphasize the lightness and airiness of the situation, the first ones are decorated with Roman curtains or thin tulle surrounded by dense coffee curtains. It is recommended that interior doors be decorated in light shades of wood or replaced with an arched opening. Textiles use light, natural fabrics with a rough texture.“Burlap”, cotton and iridescent silk, which will add depth to any shade, will look spectacular. The walls are decorated with collages from paintings depicting cups with hot drinks, sweets or coffee beans. On open shelves provide storage space for decorative trifles: bottles, vases, figurines. A stylish addition will be the placement, in a "place of honor", of a set of coffee cups on a stand. If you want to draw a parallel with the place of work of the barista, then hang a chalkboard on the accent wall and update the “family” menu on it daily. Also, the "highlight of the program" - a stylish coffee maker - will add similarities to a coffee shop. The “Confectionery” theme is embodied on an apron: it is decorated with thematic drawings (falling coffee beans, a sketch of a cup with “steam” above it from a hot drink). Indoor plants in the cappuccino interior are welcome, as greens will add freshness to the setting. One or two floor pots or a vase with fresh flowers on the table will be enough.

Lighting

Lighting is developed at several levels:

  • The main thing. The ceiling chandelier can be classic with crystal “droplets” or modern, hanging low on a spiral “leg” above the dining table. The shape of the lampshade is chosen extravagant. Groups of such chandeliers (3-4) look spectacular that emphasize the isolation of the accent area;
  • Additional or directional. The main task of the second-order lighting is to provide the housewife with a comfortable work, therefore they will organize it above the countertop;
  • Decorative or diffused. Usually this type of lighting “polishes” the room’s atmosphere and gives it a finished look. As mentioned above, cappuccino is closer to warm shades, but its “temperature” must be emphasized with light, which will add softness and depth to the color.

Decorative lighting is usually represented by spotlights, which are installed in separate areas of the room around its perimeter.

Separately, natural light is worth noting. The sun's rays will help to sparkle the shades of the kitchen with new colors, therefore, if possible, install panoramic windows that try to “open” as much as possible.

Conclusion

The actual use of cappuccino color is not only in the kitchens, but also in the living-dining rooms, bedrooms. Any room can be transformed using this shade. For many, cappuccino is associated with the morning rite of awakening. An invigorating, sweet drink helps to wake up and get a charge of good mood with a margin of a day. Remember these feelings so that, guided by them, by fragments to create a mosaic of the kitchen atmosphere. The finished interior should attract household members into the room, like a unique aroma of roasted coffee beans.
