Design bedroom 15 sq. m

Bedroom - a room created for relaxation, night, daytime sleep. Here a person spends at least a third of his life. When the room is spacious enough, there are places for changing clothes, cosmetic procedures, hobbies, computer work. How to best design a bedroom of 15 square meters. m. what colors, style, materials to use.

Layout Features

Even before drafting a bedroom repair project, you should consider what exactly will be located in this room. When an apartment has two, three or more rooms, you can afford a bedroom exclusively for sleeping.In a cramped one-room apartment, you will have to fit not only space for sleeping, but also a work area, a small dressing room, and when it is a living room-bedroom or studio apartment, then there is a reception area.
Most often, three logical zones are distinguished in a bedroom: in one of them a bed is placed, in another wardrobe, in the third - a table. The bed is usually placed in the center, head to the wall, to the corner wardrobe. If the cabinet is spacious enough, it makes a full-fledged study with a computer, office, and other equipment. Near the bed, depending on its size, put one or two nightstands, hang a sconce on top, put a floor lamp nearby. The working area is a table with a chair, an armchair, placed at the window. Instead of a desktop in the women's bedroom, they put a dressing table with a mirror - they apply makeup, work on a laptop. Sometimes, instead of a working area, a place is made for playing sports. Then there is a simulator, a special bench, dumbbells, gymnastic mats, horizontal bar and more.

It is desirable that there is enough free space in the room - for normal sleep, a person needs a lot of air, so you should not clutter up the room too much.

Color spectrum

Since this room is primarily intended for relaxation, the color scheme is chosen to promote maximum relaxation, calm after a long day's work. For each, these colors will be different - one is soothing green, the other likes pastel colors, the third is able to relax exclusively in a purple-black environment.
Fifteen square meters is not so small for a bedroom, it is not necessary to expand the space additionally with the help of color. When, in addition, there is a high ceiling - more than three meters, and the windows face the south side, the room can be decorated in dark, cold colors. From this, it will not become less comfortable, visually closer.When the height of the ceiling is not too large, the windows face north, that is, sunlight is rare, the color scheme is carried out exclusively in warm, bright colors. A large number of aggressive contrasts in any bedroom should be avoided: these include combinations of red with black or green, bright yellow with blue, any "acid" shades in various combinations.

Beige with brown
The most suitable colors:

  • light yellow with bright green;
  • pumpkin with lime;
  • lilac with pink;
  • apricot with amaranth;
  • terracotta with buffy;
  • chocolate with creamy;
  • olive with brick;
  • violet with fuchsia;
  • medium blue with white;
  • gray with muted gold;
  • snow blue with titian;
  • denim with platinum.

For a harmonious interior design, one primary color is selected, in which approximately 60-70% of the room is performed. About 30% falls on an additional color scheme, within 10% - small color accents.

Style selection

When choosing a stylistic design, you should be guided primarily by your own taste, personal preferences.
Here's how the bedrooms, made in different styles, look approximately:

  • loft - the bedroom is combined with the living room, the walls are decorated with red brick, there are planks on the floor, the windows are large and without curtains, the bed is simple in shape, there is a large massive wardrobe;
  • industrial - raw stucco on the walls, parts from a motorcycle or computer as a decor, home-made furniture, as an option - knocked together from pallets or having forged parts, on one of the walls - murals depicting a metropolis;
  • classic - wood, stone flooring, wooden furniture of natural colors, a bed with a canopy, a window, paintings on the walls, heavy curtains, an elegant chandelier, floor lamps;
  • Baroque - expensive decoration of all available horizontal and vertical surfaces, gypsum stucco molding on the ceiling, walls, animal skin on the floor, instead of carpet, voluminous, carved furniture, imitation of a fireplace on one of the walls;
  • minimalism - the floor is decorated with laminate, the walls are with plain plaster, the suspended ceiling, furniture of simple forms, “clean” colors in textiles, the decor is practically absent;
  • Oriental - mainly natural decoration materials, a low bed, almost on the floor, a low coffee table, murals depicting sakura blossoms, a bamboo mat, instead of a rug, a bonsai tree in a pot or a decorative fountain on the window;
  • hi-tech - the room is decorated in silver tones, furniture is full of metal, glass, a built-in wardrobe with full-length mirrors, steel-colored blinds on the window, many built-in lamps.

Modern materials, finishing methods

Materials for the bedroom are preferable to natural, but their choice depends on the style of the room. For the design of the floor, boards are used that are usually painted, parquet covered with varnish, a laminate of suitable colors, carpet. Natural stone and ceramic tiles are rarely used - they are very cold.
Walls are decorated with wallpaper, partly with photo wallpaper, decorative plaster, wood or plastic panels. In particularly expensive interiors, the walls are upholstered with expensive fabrics, have fragments of leather, natural fur. The ceiling is made suspended, suspended, multi-level of drywall, is made out of textured ceiling tiles, stucco moldings, glass or mirror panels.

Irregularities on the walls should be leveled so that the finish falls flat, beautifully.

Lighting

With the help of light, the room is zoned, its shape is adjusted, if necessary. It is preferable that in addition to the central ceiling chandelier, each zone is separately highlighted. The light above the work table is chosen to be the brightest - it is good if this area is located by the window, when not, it is illuminated with a table lamp on a clothespin, stand. For a computer table with shelves, built-in illumination is done or a long fluorescent lamp is mounted above it on the wall.
A dressing room or wardrobe, located in the corner of the bedroom, is illuminated with LEDs or lamps with flexible legs. The seating area in the rocking chair is also lit by a floor lamp or table lamp above the coffee table. An adjustable brightness is made above the bed so that it is convenient to read and fall asleep in the bed.
The LED strip mounted around the perimeter of the skirting boards on the floor will allow you not to bump into walls if you have to get up at night to drink water. LED illumination of each level of the suspended ceiling structure gives the impression of a high ceiling. If it is the other way round, I want to make it lower, remove the central chandelier altogether or lower it lower, highlighting individual zones, important elements of wall decor - paintings, figurines on shelves, indoor plants in the corners.

In the children's bedroom, all angles are well lit so that the child does not get injured by hitting something in search of a rolled toy, and the lamps are selected unbreakable.

Choice of furniture and furnishings

Furniture is selected as ergonomic as possible, especially if the bedroom combines several different zones. Many companies produce furniture in a certain stylistic design immediately with sets; the standard package includes:

  • bed - single, one and a half or double, preferably with an orthopedic mattress;
  • wardrobe - most often a wardrobe, sometimes built-in, including a corner;
  • bedside tables - usually two of them are the same;
  • dressing table or console for TV - equipped with a mirror, drawers;
  • chest of drawers - for storing laundry.

Often this situation is complemented by a pair of small bean bags or poufs with a coffee table. If there is a working area, a desk or computer desk is purchased, and the bed is sometimes replaced by a folding sofa. Furniture materials are selected environmentally friendly, odorless, suitable for the chosen style of the room.

Textiles and Decor

Textile elements should be combined with each other - curtains with a bedspread or colored inserts in the closet, pillowcases with pillows on the chairs, wardrobe trunks with carpet colors, wallpaper. Separate interiors include pleasing the ceiling fabric, decorating the walls, as well as textile canopies, canopies over the bed, and gaps at the bottom of the bed or table.
There should not be too much decor - a couple of pictures or photographs in frames on the walls, an interesting mirror design, a “dream catcher” under a ceiling lamp. On the wall near the dressing table or closet, homemade fabric organizers are placed to store various secrets.

Design of a bedroom of different shapes and configurations

The bedroom with simple quadrangular geometry is the easiest to decorate. Combined premises such as a living room-bedroom, a bedroom connected to an insulated balcony or a loggia, irregular shapes with a bay window, L-shaped layout are usually corrected with furniture, competent zoning, mirrors, lighting. Niches and podiums are used for zoning, if the design decision of the room it involves.

Wooden beams on the ceiling

Rectangular

The more elongated the room is, the more compact the furniture is chosen for it. Along the entire short wall, it is better to put a wardrobe - so the shape of the room will turn out closer to the square, which means it will look more harmonious. Another option: place the bed with the head of the bed on the smaller wall, on both sides of it - compact bedside tables with lamps on them. If you highlight the long walls, but not the short ones, the room will also turn out to be more square.
In case if it is planned not only to sleep in this room, zoning is carried out - part of the room with the bed is separated by a screen, curtain, screen. The role of the “border” is easily played by the wardrobe, which is set with doors in the opposite direction to the bed.In this case, its back wall is pasted over with wallpaper to create a complete impression of a separate room or decorated with a shelf.

Square

This form does not need to be corrected - any options for placing interior items are possible here. The cabinet is placed at the head of the bed or along the wall that is farthest from the window. To maintain full symmetry, you can put two identical compact corner cabinets, between them - a bed with bedside tables on the sides. A table for work or makeup is placed at the foot or closer to the wall, it is possible to use a corner computer table with shelves, drawers.
In another embodiment, a voluminous chest of drawers is placed opposite the bed, in the center of which there is a TV, on one edge is a work desk, on the other - a kind of dressing table. Here, if possible, symmetry is also respected, unless it was conceived otherwise.

Combined with a balcony

The insulated balcony is able to significantly expand the area of the bedroom - by about three to six square meters. m. Most often there is a "study room", a sports corner, and lovers of sleep by the window - a berth. Where the window used to be, a countertop is mounted, preferably of a rounded shape, so that when you exit to the balcony you do not cling to the corner every time. They also make a place for daytime relaxation on the balcony, decorating the area with a compact sofa, a pair of armchairs with a coffee table - it is convenient to read in the daylight, enjoy the sunset with a cup of evening coffee or a glass of wine. But it is not advisable to place a dressing room there - the cabinet cover will quickly fade under the sun's rays, and if there are no curtains on the windows, then people from the street will see how the residents change clothes.

If you plan to sleep on the balcony, you should make soundproofing on it, blackout curtains.

Bedroom-living room

The sleeping area in such a room is fenced off with a screen, curtain, shelving, glued with other wallpaper or is arranged on the podium. A canopy is sometimes hung over the bed.The room can be zoned using a sofa with a high back, behind which there are shelves. Sometimes, instead of a separate sofa and bed, a large modular design is acquired, on which guests are accommodated during the day and the owners sleep at night. A wardrobe bed is also a very convenient item - during the day it leans back against the wall, making room for a table, in the evening it lowers to a horizontal position, and the table and chairs are pushed into a corner. The TV is mounted on a narrow console opposite the bed.

Bedroom with study or workplace

A mini-cabinet in the bedroom is convenient if the work for which it is done requires silence, calm, concentration. The workplace, if possible, is done at the window, in the bay window, then the window sill becomes the table top. It is desirable to place a computer desk at the maximum distance from the bed. This area is fenced off with a bookcase or a wardrobe, a screen, a portable screen, is built into any corner structure, is taken out on a glazed balcony or arranged on a podium. Bright illumination of the workplace is necessary. The loft bed saves a lot of space, and the study is located underneath.

Conclusion

Fifteen square meters of bedroom space will successfully accommodate not only a comfortable bed, but also other things necessary for work and leisure. There are interiors where the bedroom even has a bath or shower. It’s easy to make an interior beautifully with your own hands, but for the implementation of complex design ideas, you will need the help of specialists.
