Ceramic tile has proven its worth, because it is easy to clean, is available in various design options, and does not require replacement for a long time. The design of the tiles in the toilet is selected most suitable for the overall style of the interior of the apartment. Such decor is glued on the floor, walls on their own, or invited experts participate.

Pros and cons

Like any finishing material, ceramic tile has positive aspects:

  • fire safety - not able to catch fire;
  • moisture resistance - not afraid of water at all, detergents, odors are not absorbed;

The cost of such a lining of the restroom is not small, but it is not a pity to pay a little more for the original appearance. Tile “under the laminate” is also produced - these are large oblong dies with a wood texture. This tile is sometimes made with photo printing, which decorates even the simplest interior, giving it uniqueness and recognition. Styling methods

The tiles for the bathroom and toilet are laid in several ways, which are used separately or combined:

  • standard - the wall is faced with brickwork, that is, each detail is shifted by half the length of the tiles of the previous row. The method is used more often than others;
  • vertical offset - performed almost like the previous one, but the offset is relative to the vertical lines. For very small rooms, such a design solution is not recommended;
  • stackable horizontally - the seam is mounted in the seam, if the parts are rectangular, then horizontally. It is important to observe the shape of the seams, make them as even as possible;
  • stacked vertically - made of vertical tiles in the same way as the previous one, but they are stacked vertically. Suitable for a bathroom with a low ceiling;
  • “Checkerboard” - rectangular parts are arranged in two, alternating between vertical and horizontal, square are selected in different colors. Looks good both on the floor and on the walls;
  • diagonally - a complex method in execution, but very beautiful, suitable for the most cramped spaces;
  • "Herringbone" - reminds a classical laying of a parquet in old buildings. It looks impressive, but individual parts will have to be cut at an angle of 45 degrees.

The calculation of the required number of tiles, adhesive composition, is carried out in advance, before it begins to be laid. Mark the walls with a laser level, stretched twine, the width of the seams is 2-5 mm.

  • modern - “wild boar” tiles of pure colors on the walls, large square-shaped on the floor, ergonomic hanging fixtures, neat lighting fixtures, small shelves on the walls;

Conclusion

Tile for the toilet - the most popular material for many decades. The correct, accurate covering of the walls and the floor with tiles will give any bathroom a neat appearance and will delight the eye for about half a century. It’s difficult to stick tiles with your own hands, because you need to do this as evenly as possible, observing the same width of the seams, always checking the level or plumb. Therefore, many hire a professional tiler who will quickly perform work according to the customer's sketches in the best possible way. If there are difficulties with the selection of a stylistic solution for the toilet room, specialist designers will come to the rescue, as well as all kinds of master classes from the Internet.
