Fusion style in the interior - bright design

Pattern in the form of a white flower on a dark wall

One of the new areas of interior design has recently gained wide popularity - the fusion style in the interior. An interesting enough, as well as a contradictory combination of interior decoration, furniture, accessories, color palette is the exact opposite of strict minimalism. Catchy design at first sight attracts attention. Despite the fact that in this style there is an attempt to combine incompatible details of the decor, colors and interior, the end result is a modern, bright environment, with a hint of luxury and simplicity. For those who are tired of monotonous everyday life, they want to bring bright colors into their lives - the fusion design in the interior will be a great option to express their creative imagination. It is in this direction, as in no other way that wide opportunities are open to create unique combinations of decorations and colors, combine creative mess with carelessness and comfort.

There are no clear criteria for choosing furniture or decoration. The interior fusion style rejects all outdated rules, merges into the modern life stream. In this design you can see elements from different cultures and countries that not only complement each other, but create a certain harmony at home. Pour new paints, creating free combinations of attributes, small details and colors. Fusion style is so different in its manifestations that sometimes it can be confused with any other. For example, the room where the classic furniture is located and the color palette has no more than two or three tones - bright or colorful decorations, accessories or elements of ancient cultures reflecting the events of past centuries are placed. Here, not only culture is intertwined, but art, music, dances and other areas of creative trends.

How did the style come about

The main feature of fusion style is considered to be its manifestation not only in the interior, but also in music, cinema, dancing and even cooking. In all these areas, the idea of combining completely different, opposite elements, which ultimately give an amazing harmonious effect of a single whole, can be traced.

Bright chairs and a wall in the kitchen

Designers from America are considered to be the pioneers of fusion style, who tried to bring notes of courage and unpredictability into the ordinary interior. From 1970 to 1990, the new style was introduced into all spheres of creativity, has become quite popular in many countries. The interior combined not only different types of furniture, but also decor items from Chinese, African, and Latin American styles.Often, a classic European sofa was adjacent to the African attributes of decor, paintings of contemporary extraordinary artists were placed over old furniture. The shape as well as the color of the furniture had unpredictable combinations. Over time, materials and interior decoration changed, new ideas for decor elements appeared, where a creative approach was used. Harmony between different objects was created due to the addition of each other in quality, texture, color shades. However, to create such an original style in the interior, you must have a certain talent, as well as extraordinary thinking, otherwise the result may not live up to expectations.

The combination of colors and their palette

The modern interior design in fusion style combines many colors, like a bright rainbow after the rain. At the same time, the color palette can go completely randomly, and can smoothly switch from hue to hue. At the same time, the forms and texture of decorations and furniture change, due to which there is a certain harmony among the creative mess. However, here the use of the color palette still has its own rules that must be taken into account.

  1. Background colors - brown, white, gray tone.
  2. Accent colors - red, blue, green, yellow, orange tone.
  3. Additional colors - pink, blue, violet, dark green, as well as others.
  4. All shades dominate or complement the interior in all forms - decorations, furniture, wallpaper, carpets.
  5. Background colors are used primarily on the ceiling, walls and floor.
  6. Accent colors are used in drawings, patterns on walls, furniture, paintings and so on.
  7. The interior may have peculiar light flashes of various elements of decor or utensils.

Patterns and drawings in the style of the interior

This style of interior is distinguished by a number of important features - an abundance of various patterns.They can create certain patterns or shapes, smoothly flow in different colors, disappear, and also reappear in lines against a specific background of the ceiling or walls. At the same time, certain trends are inherent in this style:

  1. Animalistic lines are predominant in the interior of fusion. It can be tiger stripes, zebras, rhinos, antelopes and the like patterns.
  2. Cells of different sizes, straight stripes.
  3. Floral and floral ornaments.
  4. Sharp zigzags, smooth lines.
  5. Geometric figures.
  6. Drawings of ethnic content.

Bright furniture in the room

All these patterns or lines are not even distributed on the surfaces of walls or ceilings, but are present in furniture, accessories and décor. For example, on the sofa can be located several pillows with different patterns or color scheme. On the floor there may be a rug with patterns in the form of stripes of zebra or tiger spots. Also on the walls are adjacent paintings, where the stripes are combined with squares or other geometric shapes.

What materials and textures are used

Different texture of materials should be combined in appearance and also to the touch. If the wall surface visually creates a volumetric effect, then to the touch it should also reflect such an effect. Very often in this case, relief plaster is used.

The interior of the fusion style living room, as well as other rooms, involves the use of a variety of natural and artificial materials that differ in texture and properties. Basic materials for decoration:

  1. Paper wallpaper;
  2. Cork wallpaper;
  3. Bamboo wallpaper;
  4. Artificial and natural stone;
  5. Savage stone in small form;
  6. Laminated panels;
  7. Valuable wood species;
  8. Liquid wallpaper;
  9. Ceramic tile;
  10. Plastic.

Black sofas and a pink armchair in the room

All these materials are somehow combined with each other during decoration. Natural stone perfectly adjoins a tree, and in a room with liquid wallpaper on the walls, parquet looks great.Acrylic chairs can be found next to the massive wooden table. Not so often in the fusion style, precious metals of gold or silver are used for decoration. After all, its essence is inclined towards simplicity, creative flight, to which luxury and excessive pomposity are alien.

What finishes the ceiling, walls and floor

The surface of the fusion style room is usually finished with only natural materials. Mostly this:

  1. Natural wood;
  2. Ceramic tile;
  3. Glass and panels from this material;
  4. Liquid wallpaper;
  5. Marble, granite or slate.

Carved staircase

Quite often, stretch ceilings are used in this design or trimmed with wood panels. With flooring, everything is more simple. Here, for a start, they rely on practicality, because the floor can not be covered with beautiful, but not durable materials. Therefore, as a floor finish, most often choose a parquet board, tile or linoleum. As a rule, subsequently the floor is covered with original carpet paths. But if the floor is bulk with a pattern, then it is left uncoated. But the walls - this is not a real plowed field for creativity. Here, designers succeed in combining brickwork with decorative plaster, wooden panels with mosaics made of stone. At the same time, the walls can be drapery made of fabrics in the neighborhood of paintings, mirrors.

Correct lighting in a modern design

The combination of colors, shapes, textures, furniture arrangements in this design will not give a full effect without proper lighting. After all, the distribution of light - shadow allows you to get a truly fantastic interior result. It can be warm or cold, cozy or formal style. The task of full lighting is not to fill the room with light, but to highlight individual elements or places in the room. Thus, you can divide the room into several secrets, each of which has its own characteristics. Or to emphasize certain scenery, furniture, ornaments.Among suitable lighting devices, the following can be noted:

  1. Spotlights;
  2. Floor lamps;
  3. Desk lamp;
  4. Wall sconces;
  5. LED lights;
  6. Floor lighting.

Original lamps in the interior

When choosing lighting devices, you need to take into account their shape and the color that they possess. Warm colors include a yellow, orange tone. To cold - white, blue tone. The color of lighting also depends on the main palette of the room. From the combinations of light - shadow, the best results are obtained when creating a cozy atmosphere of a house or apartment.

Textiles in interior design

In the use of textiles there are no completely clear criteria, because here you can also combine incongruous. Delicate chiffon curtains can be covered with dense textured curtains. Smooth pillows with different patterns are located on the fleecy blanket. The texture of the fabrics can be completely different, while the color or pattern is the unifying element that brings harmony to any composition. Best of all, the combination of different textiles is demonstrated in a bedroom or living room. For example, in the bedroom, an ordinary mirror can be framed with velvet fabric, and transparent chiffon curtains can be combined with a bear skin at the foot of the bed. At the same time, all this is combined in one color shade, complemented by soft light, creating a unique atmosphere of comfort and tranquility. In the living room, a fleecy carpet is combined with simple furniture, colorful decorations that are arranged in a certain way.

The right choice of furniture

To create an interior in fusion style, as a rule, do not use complete sets of furniture. Here, furniture from different collections is suitable, which differs in appearance, texture, design. Perhaps this is a huge plus in this area. This is especially convenient for the kitchen: at the table you can arrange different chairs in appearance, use cabinets, as well as kitchen utensils of more than one format, the main thing is to be convenient and beautiful. If we talk about the hall, then there is also a whole field for creativity. An old rocking chair can adjoin a classic sofa.Wicker furniture is combined with acrylic chairs, and brickwork frames the modern fireplace. No need to be afraid to experiment in this regard. The design of this direction must necessarily contain a touch of insolence, bright flashes of colors, unpredictable forms, as well as color schemes. However, furniture should not be too much, free space should also be not enough.

Accessories arrangement and decoration

Accessories and decoration for the room should combine several cultural trends, indicating the versatility of this style of interior. A fairly popular idea is to use books of different genres. Among all the decor elements that are welcomed with this style, the following can be noted:

  1. Paintings, drawings of the present and past eras;
  2. Photos of celebrities, personal portraits, books;
  3. Figurines made of bronze or porcelain;
  4. Original fixtures;
  5. Floor vases with ethnic ornaments;
  6. Personal medals or awards;
  7. Russian dolls or figurines of other cultures;

Huge vases in the interior

All of these decoration items must be correctly positioned, some with a certain highlight for emphasis. Their main task is to emphasize the individuality of the owner of the house, to bring the spirit of different cultures into the atmosphere. The color palette of decoration elements should also be combined.

The paintings on the walls in the room

The main nuances that must be observed

In order not to turn the original, original design into tasteless chaos, it is necessary to take into account certain rules and follow their implementation. You can’t just load the house with your favorite items, they must have any common basis among themselves, despite the external contradiction.

  1. The facilities for creating such an atmosphere should be large. The abundance of furniture and decoration should not occupy all the free space.
  2. You can try different ideas for combining colors, shapes and textures, the main thing is to withstand the measure in everything and combine dissimilar elements with one common idea. Different textures - in one color, combine opposite forms with a pattern.
  3. To create such a design, it is better to study all its features and main points, which will greatly help with further work. It must be remembered that fusion style was invented by talented designers, and did not appear by itself. Everything is thought out in it, down to the smallest details.
  4. Do not save on materials and furniture. High-quality building materials will make any repairs.
  5. But accessories, as well as decor items, are better to use your personal ones, which carry some kind of life story. And it doesn’t matter what the value of these figurines or paintings, the main thing is that they reflect the individuality, charisma and life customs of the owner of the house. Then your house will have an original creative interior, a truly miracle of creative imagination.
